Tig Notaro is a gender non-conforming lesbian deadpan comedian. In the last 15 minutes of her 2018 special Happy to Be Here, she winds up the audience by pretending that she has a special surprise, a performance from the Indigo Girls. She spends several minutes repeatedly faking that the Indigo Girls are about to come onstage. She jokes about the gag, saying things like 'who here thinks the Indigo Girls are about to come on stage?' and she circles around it for several minutes. The best part is when the Indigo Girls come on stage.
